DroneBlocks Partners with Ocean Alliance on SnotBot App

We are excited to announce a partnership with Ocean Alliance for whale conservation. Chris Zadra from OA originally reached out asking if we could assist with their SnotBot project. With our knowledge of DJI’s SDK and passion for drone education we couldn’t say no. You can learn more about the SnotBot project by clicking here. We plan on taking our findings from this collaboration with Ocean Alliance and turning it into a DroneBlocks course. Stay tuned!

The Future of DJI’s SDK and DroneBlocks

Arnaud Thiercelin, head of DJI’s R&D group, talks about some of the things on the horizon with DJI’s SDK. He also discusses how DroneBlocks makes it easy to get students interested in drone programming. Our goal here at DroneBlocks is to not only get students interested in programming, but also introduce them to the real-world application of drone technology. You can watch the 11 minute interview at DJI Aiworks by clicking the video on the left or click here to watch it directly on YouTube.

DroneBlocks at SXSW EDU

For the past two years DroneBlocks has been invited to present at SXSW EDU. We have shared all that we have learned while working in the classroom, developing curriculum, and providing professional development services. It is truly a rewarding experience to be able to share our passion with the SXSW EDU community.

We hope to present again at the SXSW EDU 2019 conference and look forward to sharing what we have been up to over the past year with DroneBlocks app improvements, Tello integration, and new curriculum that targets more advanced learners. If you plan on attending please contact us so we can arrange to meet up!

DroneBlocks ambassador Marisa Vickery was featured on the front page of the Austin American Statesman's business section. The article showcases some of the work Marisa has been doing with DroneBlocks and STEAM education at Walnut Springs Elementary in Dripping Springs, TX.

DroneBlocks has been a crucial component for teaching programming and drone technology to elementary school students at Walnut Springs. The article goes into detail about the creation of DroneBlocks and how students are engaging with the app and curriculum to make drones an important part of their STEAM program.

It's important to note that launching a drone program in any school should not be a daunting task. With the DroneBlocks app and curriculum, any teacher or parent will be well equipped to engage future learners about this exciting technology.
